- By this age, babies can lift their heads and chest while lying on their stomachs. They can also hold their head steady when upright and push their legs down when their feet touch a surface. Additionally, they may start grabbing objects and bringing them to their mouth.
- Opening and closing their fists
- Pushing down on legs when feet are on firm surfaces (Mind you that you have to support their whole body as they can’t stand by themselves.
Vision
Your baby can follow objects with their eyes and see colors. They may also turn their head toward sounds and respond to familiar voices. Also, by three months of age, they are aware of circular shapes and patterns like spirals/curves.
Hearing
They will respond to loud sounds with reflexive responses, and soft and calming sounds will soothe them.
Taste –
Babies prefer a sweeter taste to a bitter one. To your surprise, your breast milk is sweet.
Smell
Your baby is aware of mama’s body smell. And this will help them distinguish their mamas from other strangers
Communication/social skill
It’s time for your baby to actively engage in conversations with their caregivers. However, their responses are limited to smiles, gestures, and coos. And such little chats are definitely enjoyable ones.
