For example, Mondays are dedicated to conquering the laundry pile and folding clothes, ensuring a fresh start to the week.
Tuesdays become the days for thoroughly cleaning the bathrooms and kitchen, allowing me to maintain a tidy and hygienic environment.
Midweek on Wednesdays and Thursdays, I focus on meal prep, ensuring our family has nutritious meals ready while minimizing daily cooking stress.
Usually, my meal prep tasks are baking for the week, making sauce & broth that I can use to make different meals throughout the week, washing and chopping veggies to quickly throw them, and making side dishes for dinner or lunch.
Friday to Sunday, I focus on spending time with the family, rest & self-care, and doing activities outside & going to church.
Incorporating these routines has allowed me to navigate daily tasks more efficiently, from making the beds each morning to managing dishes throughout the day.
Crucially, I’ve set aside dedicated time to play and bond with my toddlers, giving them my undivided attention.
This intentional focus on quality time has strengthened our connection and created cherished memories.
Realizing the distraction social media can pose, I’ve consciously limited it to a structured 30-minute session per day, with an alarm, to manage my time better.
This disciplined approach has significantly reduced distractions and increased my productivity.
In managing my blog work, I’ve found immense value in dedicating an hour each night after the kids are in bed. Task batching has become my go-to strategy here as well.
On specific days, I focus solely on writing, ensuring my thoughts flow freely. The following days are reserved for editing and crafting graphics, allowing me to refine my content without feeling overwhelmed.
Additionally, I allocate separate days for audio or video recording, enabling me to maintain a high focus and productivity in each aspect of content creation.
This deliberate structuring of my time has increased my efficiency and provided a sense of control and accomplishment in managing my blog work amidst the whirlwind of motherhood.
One thing I want to say, though, is that I am far from perfect. It has not been a while since I implemented these strategies.
