Motherhood Magic: Embracing the Blessing of Three Under Four

As a mother of three under four, each day feels like an extraordinary whirlwind of love, chaos, and cherished moments.

My journey into this realm of motherhood reached a new pinnacle three months ago when I gave birth naturally to my third child, beautifully assisted by midwives.

The dynamics at home shifted once again. Welcoming our newborn into a world where our eldest two, 18 months apart, are already brimming with curiosity and exuberance. Witnessing our toddlers’ curiosity about their new sister is heartwarming and amusing.

Their introduction to her during my water birth, where they met her right in the bathtub, has sparked numerous questions from our curious son.

I’ve embraced the challenge of answering these questions in a way that’s appropriate for his tender age. Despite their tender age, our toddlers show incredible affection for their baby sister.

They’ve developed an unspoken ritual of showering her with kisses throughout the day, often forgetting only while asleep. Guiding them to handle her with care while they yearn to engage her in play has been a delightful learning experience.

I never envisioned having children in such rapid succession, and life has been a whirlwind. The unsolicited comments about having children so close together perplexed me; I believed in the notion of spaced-out age gaps between siblings.

However, motherhood has a way of reshaping perspectives. When my second pregnancy occurred while still nursing my firstborn, it was a surprise that ultimately taught me resilience and provided me with the strength to navigate this beautiful chaos.

Looking at my first two children, who are the best of friends despite their close age gap, I cherish their bond. Witnessing them play together and support each other fills my heart with immense joy.

The challenges of raising three young children are undeniable—physically, financially, and mentally demanding. Yet, the reward far outweighs the toil. Their unconditional love and the fulfillment I derive from being their mother surpass any hurdle.

The cuteness of my little ones is a daily joy that never fails to warm my heart. Their laughter and innocent antics create a magical atmosphere, turning ordinary moments into extraordinary memories.
